Highlights from Sivil Düşün history

Across the globe, human rights activists, policymakers, legal experts, and think tanks are actively exploring ways to renew the global human rights agenda, systems, strategies, and tactics. As part of this effort, Sivil Düşün, the European Union’s flagship civil society support program, is fostering space and opportunities for Türkiye’s human rights actors to engage with these pressing issues. In December, 200 diverse representatives from civil society, academia, business, arts and culture, law, and the media gathered in Istanbul for the Sivil Düşün “Passage to Renewing the Global Human Rights Agenda Forum,” to collectively reimagine the future of human rights.

This essay collection builds on that vital discussion. Sivil Düşün invited seven experienced activists to share their insights and recommendations for adapting to a rapidly changing world order. We hope this collection inspires a shift away from outdated perspectives, approaches, and methods, toward new ways of thinking and working in response to today’s challenges.
